UNFOLDING IN DIRECT SUNLIGHT is a limited edition art book; each book begins with the same pages of poetry and ends with a unique 18x24 painting that folds out.

PROCESS:

I made 40 paintings during a “particular time in my life”. A year later, I took notes I’d written during that painting session and created poetry. I crafted an absurdly bespoke book style involving hand stitching with sacred yellow thread pulled through beeswax three times. UNFOLDING IN DIRECT SUNLIGHT was created while working within the incredible community space at THE IPRC in Portland, Oregon.
